Maintenance Surveyor

Southern Housing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Surveyor for a 6.5‑month contract, likely to be extended at the client’s discretion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a responsive surveying service, ensuring properties are maintained to the highest standards and meet all statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee responsive repairs, carrying out pre‑, mid‑ and post‑inspections.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure work is completed to required quality and safety standards.
• Identify building defects and prepare detailed specifications for remedial works.
• Produce technical reports and recommendations for repairs.
• Obtain quotations and estimates in line with procurement procedures.
• Manage contractors and oversee repair works, ensuring residents receive an excellent, customer‑focused service.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Building Surveyor or Maintenance Surveyor in a responsive repairs or maintenance environment.
• Experience carrying out pre‑, mid‑ and post‑inspections.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, construction methods and materials, building defects and remedial solutions.
• Experience managing contractors and overseeing repair works.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
