Are You Ready for a New Challenge?
Do you have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment? Are you calm under pressure, confident in decision-making, and ready to make a difference?
Join us as a Train Dispatcher!
We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to ensure safe, on-time train departures and provide top-notch customer support at the station. If you’re a self-starter with great communication skills and a can-do attitude, this could be the perfect role for you!
What You’ll Do
- Provide outstanding customer service and assistance.
- Ensure safe and timely train dispatch.
- Provide helpful information and assistance to customers.
- Prioritize the safety of customers, colleagues and visitors.
- Keep the station clean and secure.
- Collaborate with teams to provide real-time information during disruptions.
- Enhance customer security through your strong visibility within the station.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong team player, able to work independently.
- Excellent communication and basic numeracy skills.
- Computer literate and comfortable using apps.
Working Pattern
You will be required to work a flexible shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays. Shifts may start as early as 05:00 and finish as late as 01:00. As public transport may not be available at these times, you must be able to travel to and from the station independently for the start and end of your shifts. Due to the nature of the shifts work involved in these roles, applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
What to Expect
- After submitting your application, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment – Train Dispatch Multi-Tasking Test (recommended on a laptop/computer).
- Successful candidates will be invited for a competency-based interview.
- Successful applicants will need to pass a medical assessment, including a colour vision test and drug and alcohol screening.
- Full training will be provided, including a 3‑week training programme in Swindon.
