Support Worker – Canvey Island, Essex

Role: Compassionate Healthcare Assistant supporting a young adult client with challenging behaviours in their own home. Shift availability: day and night. Salary: £15.20 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.

Clinical and Personal Requirements

• Specialist expertise supporting individuals with challenging behaviour and hyper fixation.
• Experience supporting people with challenging behaviours.
• Strong communication, reliability, empathy and person‑centred values.
• Ability to work independently, professionally and in a 2:1 care model.

Shift Details

• Day shifts – 2:1 coverage.
• Night shifts – 2:1 coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate 2:1 care in the client’s home.
• Support community access and social activities.
• Promote independence and dignity in all tasks.
• Provide emotional reassurance and wellbeing support.
• Communicate effectively with clinical, care and coordination teams.
