Responsibilities
- Maintain process, packing and utility equipment to maximise reliability and performance.
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Support planned preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Issue permits to work and follow safe isolation procedures.
- Support plant start-ups, shutdowns and product changeovers.
- Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record work and analyse equipment performance.
- Create, complete and manage work orders.
- Support continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
- Contribute to spare parts control and equipment purchasing decisions.
- Maintain product quality, integrity and food safety standards.
- Share knowledge, coach colleagues and support skill development within the team.
- Communicate effectively across shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others.
Qualifications
- HNC, ONC, NVQ or equivalent qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
- Completed an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or factory maintenance environment.
- Experience working with PLC‑controlled high‑speed production, packing or process equipment.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience using maintenance management systems and preventive maintenance programmes.
- Good IT skills, including working with PC‑controlled machinery and engineering systems.
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving.
Working Pattern & Compensation
- Shift based, 12‑hour rotating shifts, following a set shift pattern including weekend working.
- Salary £57,900.00 + potential bonus.
