Breakfast Chef – Manchester Airport

Responsible for managing a busy breakfast service, preparing and cooking dishes, carrying out prep work, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and working effectively with front-of-house staff. Must adhere to health & safety and food hygiene legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and work in a busy breakfast service
• Prepare and cook dishes according to the Head Chef’s specifications
• Carry out prep work and set up the assigned section ahead of lunch service
• Multi-task and perform during busy service times
• Conduct a full clean down of the kitchen and keep the working environment immaculate
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Adhere to health & safety and food hygiene legislation
• Learn and support across different areas of the kitchen

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years professional cooking experience as a Demi Chef or Chef de Partie in a full-service restaurant
• Will or able to work all early morning shifts (00:30–11:00 or 04:00–12:00)
• Strong understanding of health & safety, allergens, and food hygiene; prior training preferred
• Ability to work singlehandedly, stay calm under pressure, and maintain pace during service
• Task-oriented, detail oriented with pride in the quality of work
• Demonstrated research into Dakota brand and genuine desire to join the team

Employment Details

• Permanent contract; minimum 40 hours per week, any 5 days out of 7
• Typical shifts: 03:00am – 11:00am or 04:00am – 12:00pm
• Hourly rate up to £15.56 (inclusive of anticipated tronc payment)
