Teaching Assistant – Portfield Plus
Location: East Parley, Dorset | Salary: £13.39 – £13.65 per hour | Full time (37 hrs/week) | Note: no visa sponsorship.

Following the expansion into Portfield Plus, we seek a passionate Teaching Assistant to support individual learning journeys, build confidence, independence and meaningful success every day. A comprehensive 12‑week training programme will equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to excel.
Hours
- Monday: 08:30am – 04:00pm
- Tuesday: 08:30am – 04:30pm
- Wednesday: 08:30am – 04:00pm
- Thursday: 08:30am – 04:00pm
- Friday: 08:30am – 03:30pm
Responsibilities
- Support students by developing a positive working relationship, understanding their interests, preferences and unique learning styles to personalise lessons.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as feeding, nappies, toilet training and other daily support needs.
- Participate in exercises, activities and lessons, supporting students physically and emotionally.
- Use initiative and adapt to varied situations throughout the school day.
- Maintain a calm, supportive environment, even under pressure.
- Collaborate with teammates, line manager, leadership, mental health first aiders and the Employee Assistance programme for ongoing support.

- Can easily adapt to different situations.
- Has a fun and supportive nature.
- Doesn’t hesitate to play and get messy.
- Displays a calm approach, even when under pressure.
- Can support with personal care such as nappies and toilet training.
- Can participate in any exercise and activities required.
- Can use initiative where needed.
