This position is available on a permanent basis and offers both full‑time and part‑time opportunities.

Location & Working Hours

Location: Cludesdale

Hours: Various, permanent

Work pattern: 7 days on, 14 days off, in accordance with a roster.

Salary: £18.40 – £18.85 per hour (Grade 2, Level 3). Additional increment of 1–2 based on shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day care to service users in their homes.
  • Uphold dignity, respect and independence of all service users.
  • Adapt care plans to meet individual needs and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Support service users to build confidence and skills while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Respond appropriately to refusals of care or moments of emotional distress.
  • Handle unexpected or difficult situations promptly, assessing and managing risks.
  • Commit to scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum requirement: SVQ Level 2 in Social Care (or equivalent). All candidates must hold this qualification.
  • Preferred: SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to achieve it.
  • Verified evidence of qualifications must be submitted.
  • Must pass a Disclosure Scotland (PVG) check before a formal offer.
  • Not barred from working with children or adults.

Legal & Regulatory Requirements

  • Post is excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Scotland Act 2020.
  • Regulated role with Children and/or Adults – must complete a Disclosure Scotland check.
  • Overseas criminal records check required for applicants born or living outside the UK for at least three months in the last ten years.
