Graduate Psychology Learning Support Assistant

Coventry | Full-Time | September 2026 Start

£20,000 – £25,000 per annum

A welcoming secondary school in Coventry is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Psychology graduate to join its dedicated SEND team from September. This long‑term opportunity offers invaluable experience working alongside experienced educators and SEND specialists while making a genuine difference to students every day.

The Role

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you’ll become an integral part of the school’s inclusion team, supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering tailored 1:1 and small group academic interventions
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional learning needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
  • Working closely with teachers to adapt learning activities for individual pupils
  • Helping students build confidence, resilience and independence
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Psychology degree (2:1 or First Class preferred)
  • Strong A-Level and GCSE results
  • A genuine interest in child development, mental health and inclusive education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Experience working with children or young people through schools, tutoring, youth work or care settings (desirable but not essential)
