Job overview
Mitie is looking for a Logistics Security Officer who can deliver exceptional customer service while creating a safe environment free from the fear of crime for visitors and colleagues.
Qualifications
It is preferable that you hold a current SIA licence or SIA certificates. In some circumstances training for a licence can be provided.
Vetting
It is vital that you have a full 5‑year checkable employment/education history; failure to do so could mean your offer will be withdrawn or your employment stopped.
Main duties
- To deliver industry‑leading customer service
- To conduct patrols of the depot
- To provide a visible security contact for colleagues, contractors, and visitors
- Utilise CCTV systems to support the reduction of crime and stock loss
- Liaise with the depot management teams
- Deterrence of theft, both internal and external, and other poor working practices
- Conduct searches (to be discussed at interview)
- Respond to any on‑site incident or request for assistance and assume control until arrival of the client, emergency services or depot duty manager
- Highlight all breaches of security procedures including internal and external crime
- Support with access and egress to and from the site as required by the systems installed
- Gatehouse duties including booking in vehicles and supporting the transport operation (to be discussed at interview)
- Have a reasonable level of PC skills
