Caretaker – Required for 1st September 2026
Scale 3 (SCP 5-6). 24 hours per week, term time only. Actual salary: Scale 3 Point 6 FTE £25,989 (pending pay award).
Job hours: 12 hours per week at each of the two schools – Wyche C of E Primary School and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.
Responsibilities
The caretaker will provide day‑to‑day maintenance and repair work across both sites, ensuring safe and welcoming premises for pupils and staff.
- Carry out routine repairs, maintenance and upkeep of the school premises.
- Log and perform statutory checks, such as fire alarm testing and water‑temperature logging.
- Support the safeguarding policies of both schools and work closely with staff to maintain a safe environment.
- Adopt a reliable, efficient approach to working across both sites, which are less than ten minutes’ driving distance apart.
Requirements
- Experience in repairs, maintenance and premises upkeep.
- Ability to carry out and log statutory checks.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promotion of youth welfare.
- Willingness to visit both sites.
