Summary
We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust shop at Hinton Ampner, to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.
Salary and Contract
Salary: £12.75 per hour. Contract: Fixed Term ending 1st August 2027. Hours: This is a zero‑hour contract, so no guaranteed number of hours each week. We aim for a consistent work pattern but schedules may change based on business needs. The shop is open from 11:00 to 17:00 (16:00 in winter) and closes for most of January. A rota is used whereby one week is two days and the other is three, including a weekend (bank holiday working is also expected, as is Christmas & Easter). This may average about 10 hours per week. Extra hours are available to cover holidays and other absences.

What you’ll be doing
As a member of the retail team, you’ll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You’ll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers. You’ll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
