Retail Assistant – Part Time

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Ferry Road, City of Edinburgh. This is a permanent part‑time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 12 hours over 3 days each week, including weekends.

Job Details

• Hours: 12 hours across 3 days per week
• Pay: £10.95 – £12.81 per hour (age dependent)

Responsibilities

• Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello
• Help customers find the items they are looking for
• Provide fast, friendly service at the tills; offer help to pack and leave a positive impression with a thank you and goodbye
• Handle stock with care, work deliveries, and quickly place products into freezers and onto shelves
• Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy

Requirements

• A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work
• Enjoy being busy – jump from putting out deliveries to serving on the till, helping customers, completing cleaning and stock rotation routines
• Reliability – be a dependable part of a small team and deliver each shift to the best of your ability
• Flexibility with shifts – be prepared to work slightly different hours to cover for colleagues on holiday; rota is planned three weeks in advance
• Complete an Employment Verification check if successful and offered the position
