Overview

YMCA Robin Hood Group provides supported accommodation for homeless young people and vulnerable adults in our Nottingham City Centre and surrounding areas. We are looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our team, working 37.5 hours per week. Working as part of a wider team, you will follow the cleaning schedules to ensure we meet our SLA’s to create a clean and tidy environment for our residents to live.

Responsibilities

  • Wipe down, dust and hoover stairs and corridors
  • Dust lounge and dining room
  • Wipe down and sanitise surfaces, tables, TVs, light switches and door handles
  • Clean the kitchen
  • Wipe down all surfaces, cupboard doors and sink
  • Mop all floors
  • Clean ovens, microwave, kettle and toaster
  • Clean the bathroom
  • Clean shower and/or bath, sink and toilet
  • Clean mirrors and shower glass
  • Mop the floors
  • Hoover throughout the property
  • Empty bins

Monthly responsibilities

  • Deep Clean Carpets with use of vacuum machine
  • Defrost and deep clean fridge/freezer
  • Clean internal windows

Support, training and safety

We will supply all the products and equipment you need and also provide full health and safety/COSHH training to ensure you are working in a safe manner. It goes without saying, you will take a huge amount of pride in your work and have the highest standards in your work.

Requirements and profile

  • You are likely to have worked in a domestic or commercial cleaning role before and be confident and comfortable working in a highly diverse and varied role where genuinely no day is ever the same.
  • Due to the locations of the various homes we require the right candidate to be a driver and have their own vehicle to travel between homes, as a number of the homes are not accessible via bus or tram routes.
  • You will be expected to interact with residents in a respectful manner and support their journey to independent living as part of your role, while reporting any concerns about their well-being or safety.
  • This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service.
