We are seeking an enthusiastic andmotivated individual to join our support team. We are looking for someone who iscommitted to improving the outcomes of all children.Previous experience working with children in aschool, preferably in a similar role is desirable.A commitment to working collaboratively with allmembers of our school community is essential.
Responsibilities:
Tosupport the classroom teacher with their responsibility for the development andeducation of all pupils.
Tosupport pupils in their learning. This may be supporting the whole class, smallgroups or individual pupils with Learning Support plans or EHCP’s where agreater level of support is required.
Toassist in development of pupils’ learning, the provision of care and themanagement of pupils’ behaviour under the guidance of teaching staff/seniorcolleagues
Establishconstructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according toindividual needs
Promotethe inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Encouragepupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
Providefeedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance ofthe teacher
Setchallenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
Createand maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordancewith lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work
Usestrategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learninggoals
Assistwith the planning of learning activities
Monitorpupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately recordachievement/progress as directed
Providedetailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement, progress,problems etc.
Promotegood pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line withestablished policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their ownbehaviour
Supportteaching /senior staff with routine administration, e.g. photocopying, typing,filing, etc
Establish constructive relationships withparents/carers
Be aware of and comply with policies andprocedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security,confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriateperson.
Be aware of and support difference to ensureall pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims ofthe school
Participate in training and other learningactivities and performance development as required.
Accompany teaching staff and pupils oneducational visits, trips and out of school activities as required and takeresponsibility for a group under the supervision of the teacher.
