Our client, an established and highly respected construction contractor is seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join their team on a major project in Donegal.

With an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across Ireland, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that genuinely values health, safety, quality and environmental excellence.

This is a site-based position where you’ll play a key role in supporting project delivery while helping to develop and maintain a positive safety culture across the site.

The Role

Reporting into the SHEQ Manager, you’ll work closely with project teams, site management and subcontractors to ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.

This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being visible on site, building strong relationships and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance checks.
  • Promote and maintain a positive Health & Safety culture across the project.
  • Support the implementation of the company’s SHEQ Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Conduct accident, incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Review RAMS and provide guidance to project teams where required.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and maintain SHEQ documentation.
  • Support environmental compliance and quality assurance activities.
  • Produce regular SHEQ reports and performance metrics for management.

About You

You’ll be a proactive SHEQ professional with construction experience who is confident engaging with people at every level on site.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a Construction Health & Safety or SHEQ role.
  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, Diploma or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of UK/Irish construction legislation and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • The ability to work independently while supporting multiple stakeholders.
  • A full driving licence.
