About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Site Assistant to join a well-established educational setting in Gloucester.This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and reliable individual to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Working as part of the site team, you will support the day-to-day operation of the school’s facilities, ensuring buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard and that maintenance tasks are completed efficiently.This role would suit candidates with experience as a Site Assistant, Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Assistant, Handyman, or in a similar position.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssisting with the maintenance and upkeep of school buildings and groundsUnlocking and securing school buildings as requiredResponding to maintenance requests and carrying out basic repairsSetting up furniture and equipment for assemblies, meetings, and school eventsUndertaking manual handling duties, including moving parcels, furniture, and equipmentSupporting health and safety compliance across the siteUsing hand and power tools safely and effectivelyAssisting with energy efficiency initiatives and site improvement projectsBuilding positive working relationships with staff and site users
Skills & RequirementsPrevious experience in a Site Assistant, Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Assistant, Handyman, or similar rolePractical maintenance and DIY skillsBasic knowledge of health and safety requirementsAbility to undertake manual handling tasksGood communication and organisational skillsReliable, flexible, and proactive approach to workAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to undertake training and professional developmentWorking HoursFull-time positionPart-time applications will be consideredShift patterns may be requiredSome weekend working may be required
