Salary: £48,000 – 88,000 per year

Requirements

• Significant senior leadership experience within digital transformation, healthcare innovation, or technology strategy
• Strong track record of delivering complex digital and innovation programmes within the NHS or healthcare sector
• Experience developing innovation partnerships with external stakeholders, suppliers, academic institutions, or research organisations
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior clinical and executive leaders
• Strong understanding of digital health technologies, AI, data-driven transformation, and emerging healthcare innovation
• Experience leading organisational change and driving adoption of new technologies
• Experience working with NHS innovation programmes, NIHR, Health Innovation Networks, or Innovate UK is desirable
• Knowledge of AI governance, data protection, DTAC, and NHS digital standards is desirable
• Experience securing external funding for innovation initiatives is desirable
• Background in health informatics, digital health, research, transformation, or emerging technologies is desirable

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver our emerging technology and innovation strategy
• Lead a portfolio of digital innovation projects and transformation initiatives
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, data, digital therapeutics, wearables, and other emerging technologies
• Build strategic partnerships with NHS organisations, academia, research institutions, and industry partners
• Support funding applications, innovation programmes, and external collaborations
• Drive innovation adoption and change management across clinical and operational services
• Ensure robust governance, information security, and regulatory compliance across innovation projects
• Represent our Trust at regional and national innovation forums

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Interim Head of Emerging Technology to lead our digital innovation agenda during a period of transformation. This senior interim role is a 4‑month contract with an immediate start and 3 days per week, based in Croydon, at Band 8b within the London cap rate framework. Working closely with our Chief Digital Officer and senior clinical leaders, you will help position our Trust at the forefront of healthcare innovation, driving the adoption of AI, digital health solutions, advanced analytics, remote monitoring technologies, and other emerging innovations.
