Overview

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business that delivers award‑winning water and wastewater schemes from feasibility to construction. The Senior Civil Engineer will join a team working on major water and wastewater schemes across Scotland.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design support and guidance, ensuring designs are fit for purpose and comply with legislation and standards.
  • Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond.
  • Engage positively with the client, managing relations and adopting a one‑team approach.
  • Manage interfaces and integration of the civil design with other disciplines and produce documentation.
  • Act as technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews across teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, including standard designs, sustainable solutions and digital tools.
  • Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.
  • Support the civil engineering team through coaching and mentoring and help identify the right resources for projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
  • Experience delivering high‑quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
  • Methodical problem‑solving approach.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.
