What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will lead, motivate and support a team of building cleaning operatives while managing rotas, staffing levels, equipment, materials, transport and personal protective equipment. You will monitor cleaning standards, identify opportunities for service improvement and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including COSHH requirements. You will also respond professionally to customer enquiries and service requests and, when required, undertake operational cleaning duties to support the team.

About You

You will be an organised, approachable and confident leader with experience of working within cleaning services or a similar operational environment. You will have strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills, enabling you to manage people, priorities and resources effectively while maintaining excellent service standards.

Role Requirements

  • Experience working in cleaning services or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience supervising or managing staff.
  • Good communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites.
  • Management or leadership qualification advantageous, and willingness to pursue one if not yet held.
  • Experience managing attendance, appraisals and performance matters.
  • Experience overseeing services across multiple sites.
