Estates Contracts Officer (Public Sector) – Antrim, Northern Ireland

Salary: GBP 39,000 – 39,900 per annum.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will support the delivery of a range of functions within the Estate Services Section, in line with the corporate and annual business plans, ensuring the efficient and safe management of estate assets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Estate Services functions aligned with the corporate and annual business plans, focusing on functional, safe, modern, and efficient estate assets.
  • Lead staff management, organising and monitoring operational aspects of work, and managing external contractors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely production of all requested information for the Estate Services section.
  • Advise the Lead Estate Services Officer on current trends, best practice techniques and technologies in Estate Services, and provide regular, up-to-date statistics and management information.
  • Contribute to the delivery of services in client‑maintained properties, including:
  • Contract Management and Annual Order Management
  • Strategic Asset Management Plan
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance Systems
  • CCTV Strategy and provision
  • Condition Surveys
  • Access Audits
  • Cleaning of Facilities
  • Car Park Management
  • Caretaking/Cleaning
  • Mechanical, Electrical and Building Services functions
  • Facilities/Building Maintenance
  • Security on all Council properties
  • Playground Management and Maintenance

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as Electrical, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Building Surveying or another equivalent Level 6 qualification.
  • At least 1 year of experience in building construction, including two of the following:
  • Experience of building construction and current building techniques and their application.
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems and their application.
  • Knowledge and experience of health and safety legislation relating to facilities management.
  • Experience of facilities contract management.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the management and supervision of staff and contractors.
  • Full current driving licence or, if driving is disabled, suitable transport to enable full duty performance.
  • Full membership of an appropriate professional body such as IWFM, CIBSE, CIOB, etc.
  • Additional relevant experience in Facilities Management.

Remuneration

£39,750 per annum, plus discount benefits.
