Overview

Hybrid Tenders & Contracts Specialist – Permanent Contract

Location: Newbury, UK.

Hybrid Position – 1‑2 Days in Office Per Week. Work Flexibility: role allows majority of time from an alternate workplace.

In collaboration with the Associate Commercial Manager/Team Leader, you will manage the entire tender process (identification, qualification, response and evaluation) and coordinate key requirements with Legal, Sales, Finance, Product Management and other relevant functions.

For customer contracts, you will act as the first point of contact for all sales‑related legal inquiries and approval requests, working closely with Stryker’s legal counsel and sales colleagues to manage the contract database and improve contract compliance tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end‑to‑end tender and contract processes.
  • Coordinate contract administration, compliance and Nexus compliance.
  • Scout tender opportunities through relevant platforms and websites.
  • Manage the Go/No‑Go decision process and record consensus.
  • Register identified tenders in Nexus for direct and indirect tenders.
  • Review and understand key tender requirements and terms and conditions.
  • Initiate and lead tender kick‑off meetings, pricing meetings and lessons learned meetings.
  • Create tender action plans with Gantt chart (tasks, documents, RACI and deadlines).
  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team to create the commercial offer.
  • Review total tender submission and obtain approvals according to the DOA approval matrix.
  • Communicate timelines and status updates with all stakeholders.
  • Create Teams channels for tenders where Gantt chart tracker and other documents can be uploaded.
  • Support pricing specialists with price evaluations and tender award information.
  • Support divisions and pricing teams with publicly available competitor information.
  • Evaluate the tender outcome (win/loss) and provide award analysis to the business.
  • Continuously evaluate the tender process and propose improvements.
  • Communicate customer feedback on Stryker’s performance on tenders and contracts as part of lessons learned.
  • Manage and update the COE content library for your region/country.
  • Maintain the tender forecast and pipeline for senior management.
  • Manage the distribution of draft and finalized contracts (internal and external).
  • Manage contract renewals through Nexus and contract compliance tools.
  • Maintain and develop the internal contract management system, providing easy access to all proposals and contracts.
  • Track sales and volume performance against customer commitments.
  • Update, maintain and optimise the opportunity tracker and pipeline.
  • Gather publicly available market information on competitor contracts with sales.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in tenders and contracts.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Very good knowledge of Oracle software and Power BI.
  • Ability to multi‑task and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High level of discipline and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Structured and organised planner.
  • Articulate, numerical and process‑oriented.
  • Detail‑driven and results‑focused.
  • Diplomatic team player focused on hitting deadlines in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Strong communicator with strong writing and bid‑text authoring skills.
