What You’ll Do
We are looking for a Project Manager to support the Contract Delivery Manager in the Arb Utility division at Ground Control. You will manage the operation for an assigned programme of tree works around power lines and pylons in the East Midlands area. Your role involves driving programme delivery for both self and contract KPI targets and supervising our tree cutting teams.
As a field‑based role you will spend approximately 3‑4 days in the field and 1‑2 days working from home. A valid driving licence is required as you will be driving to rural locations regularly.
You will ensure work is completed to the highest possible standards in terms of safety, environment, quality, customer service and profitability. Drive consistency and innovation through everything you do to ensure Ground Control are the best at what we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for outputs and performance within your projects, measured against safety, quality, production, budget, required timings and client satisfaction.
- Ensure efficient communication with your assigned office‑based Project Coordinator and take relevant action to ensure projects are processed in good time for smooth delivery.
- Provide timely and effective reporting and communication to your Contract Delivery Manager.
- Ensure your assigned tree cutting teams have a suitable work bank and are being fully utilised across the wider contract.
- Update and manage the relevant programmes of work as well as planning checklists and all similar programmes for your project and assigned teams.
- Swiftly resolve any delayed spans that require client involvement to gain consent.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Proficient and competent IT usage.
- Well‑developed team management and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and balance demands from numerous sources to meet all stakeholder needs.
- Excellent customer service.
Preferable experience: basic field‑based experience in the Arb industry, surveying, installation engineering, or ex‑armed forces. Any tree or horticulture related experience from a practical or project‑management perspective would be a benefit but is not essential.
