Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and direction for Aeon’s platform — the patient-facing health platform, the medical partner portal, and how AI modules integrate.
- Code daily alongside the team: this is a hands‑on role, especially during the first year.
- Define and role model the company software engineering culture and rituals.
- Lead code reviews, technical decisions, and engineering standards.
- Drive the team’s evolution toward AI‑native development – not just using AI tools, but fundamentally rethinking how we design, build, and ship software.
- Recruit, mentor and elevate newly joining team members over the coming years.
- Partner closely with the CPTO and Growth team on roadmap and architecture trade‑offs.
- Work on the transition to medical SaMD processes together with our regulatory specialist, and take ownership of GDPR and similar compliance areas.
Requirements
- Strong full‑stack background with genuine technical depth.
- Familiarity with common frontend and backend technologies, like React, Nuxt, Vue, Tailwind, Python, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, AWS.
- An AI‑native development mindset: you have already fundamentally changed how you code because of AI, and you are eager to push the whole team in that direction.
- A hands‑on mindset.
- Natural technical authority. People follow your lead not because of your title, but because you are consistently sharp and direct.
- Startup instinct: comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and wearing more than one hat.
- Experience with recruiting and leading an engineering team.
- For applicants who want to work at our Winterthur office: Swiss work permit or Swiss/EU/EFTA citizenship is a must.
- For applicants who want to work at our London office: You must already have the right to work in the UK (British/Irish passport, Settled Status, or other valid work visa), or currently hold a Skilled Worker visa with another employer (transfer possible). We are not able to sponsor new Skilled Worker visas from abroad at this stage.
