Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £60,000 – 60,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Senior Infrastructure Engineer or similar role within complex IT environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and core infrastructure services.
• Strong hands‑on experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Deep expertise in networking, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting of firewalls, routers and switches, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and network security principles.
• Solid experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, including hybrid network integrations.
• Experience implementing and supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions in enterprise environments.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or VMware are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain server, network, and storage solutions for clients.
• Provide 3rd line support and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
• Manage cloud and hybrid environments, including Azure.
• Monitor and maintain infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Lead infrastructure migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Build strong relationships with clients, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions.
• Document technical processes and configurations for clarity and compliance.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
