Senior Financial Accountant

Senior Financial Accountant | 12 month FTC | £70,000 | Listed Media business | Manchester (2 days in the office)

Reporting to the Head of RTR, we are hiring a Senior Financial Accountant to join a leading media organisation based in Manchester on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working in a business-facing role, partnering with multiple finance teams while driving financial integrity, process improvements and finance transformation initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across finance, solving complex accounting issues and delivering meaningful improvements across the function.

Responsibilities include:

• Partner with Financial Controllers, FP&A and Finance Operations and shared service teams to resolve complex accounting issues and provide financial insight.




• Take ownership of divisional general ledger integrity, ensuring accurate month-end and year-end close activities.




• Review and complete complex balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings and variance investigations.




• Support statutory audits by providing reconciliations, documentation and technical accounting support.




• Drive continuous improvement, automation and process enhancements across Record to Report activities.

What they’re looking for:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).




• Strong background in financial accounting, general ledger management and month-end reporting within a large or complex organisation.




• Experience partnering with senior finance stakeholders, including Financial Controllers and FP&A teams.




• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach.




• Proven ability to investigate complex accounting issues, improve processes and deliver financial accuracy.




• Experience supporting finance transformation, process improvement or ERP system changes is highly desirable (Oracle experience beneficial).
