Chemical / Process Engineer – Marketing Division
Join our manufacturing centre of excellence based in the Shrewsbury, Shropshire area. This is an opportunity to work within a rapidly expanding technical team, providing liquid chromatography, peptide synthesis, and clinical and diagnostics consumables for a growing biopharmaceuticals market.
Responsibilities
- Operate within a DSEAR‑compliant environment and understand required design and safety standards for hazardous area manufacture.
- Lead and document design, installation, acceptance, validation, and verification testing while engaging external suppliers and collaborating with multidisciplinary internal teams.
- Schedule and conduct maintenance, calibration, and installation activities in a live, fast‑paced production environment.
- Execute and support Management of Change control processes, determining and documenting risks and mitigations associated with any manufacturing change.
- Identify new and emerging technologies that could be adopted to current production processes to drive efficiencies and maintain industry‑leading competitive advantage.
- Represent the local team as part of global, cross‑disciplinary project teams within the division’s Global Engineering team.
- Work with a strong Continuous Improvement (CI) mentality to identify, design, and implement production efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Chemical/Process Engineering or equivalent.
Desired Attributes & Experience
- 3‑7 years of relevant industrial experience.
- Process Safety Management certificate.
- Ability to create Piping & Instrumentation Drawings.
- Familiarity with HAZOP and similar process safety tools.
- Experience with Siemens NX software for CAD design and modelling or similar.
- Experience in process optimisation, scale‑up, and technology deployment.
- Project management and organisational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication, teamwork skills, and a commitment to learning new skills and knowledge.
- Proficiency in data analysis statistical tools and software.

Additional Details
This is a full‑time position with a weekly schedule. Our pay range is determined by role, level, and location. Individuals will be paid within the range based on factors such as location, skills, experience, and education.
