Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)

Salary: £36,497 rising to £40,552 upon successful completion of probation.

In this role you will play an integral part of our Train Planning team, responsible for producing the timetable.

Reporting to the Traincrew Diagramming Team Leader or Informed Traveller Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Producing a high-quality planning product according to industry timescales
  • Producing LTP & STP Traincrew diagrams as well as STP rolling stock diagrams and STP amendments to the timetable
  • Producing outputs that make the most efficient and effective use of resources, maximising the benefits of the existing terms and conditions whilst also being robust and meeting business needs
  • Working to strict deadlines, often under pressure
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure diagrams and train plans meet resource and budget constraints and to ensure that plans are deliverable within available resources
  • Deputising for the relevant Team Leader as required

To be successful in this role you must clearly demonstrate on your application the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience maintaining excellent attention to detail, working in an analytical way and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills and an ability to learn how to use new systems
  • Knowledge of the UK rail industry
  • Train Planning experience is desirable, but not essential

More importantly you must be able to bring in new ideas, be willing to question the norm and implement improvements so we effectively respond to our customer needs.
