We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Network Health team.

About the role
A hands‑on, field‑based role to repair parcel lockers on client sites. Tasks include break‑fix, maintenance, software configuration, quality control, technical support and training for employees and subcontractors. The role is also involved in developing new solutions and maintaining technical documentation.
What you’ll be doing
- Diagnosing and repairing faults and malfunctions of parcel locker machines (APMs) on site, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Maintenance and modernization of parcel locker machines, including implementing hardware and software upgrades for reliability and efficiency.
- Diagnostics, reconfiguration, and installation of computer software or firmware for electronic/electromechanical equipment, ensuring compatibility and security compliance.
- Processing and reporting on assigned repairs using internal communication channels.
- Managing tools and components for parcel locker machines.
- Handling systems for managing personnel‑related matters.
- Conducting quality control of work performed by internal employees and subcontractors to meet technical standards, contractual agreements, and company guidelines.
- Providing technical and substantive support to employees and subcontractors (including international ones) via internal communication and IT channels.
- Participating in the development of solutions for new parcel locker machines.
- Preparing and updating technical manuals and documentation.
Location & Hours
Occasional training and office visits in Hemel Hempstead are required. The role must be located near or within the North Wales/Chester area to cover that patch area. Working hours are 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, 40‑hour week.
What we need from you
Experience in a field service technical engineering role on electrical/mechanical equipment and proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic tools (multi‑meter). Additional qualifications:
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, with experience in software configuration and firmware updates.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to provide technical training.
- Task management skills to ensure quality and meet deadlines across multiple markets.
- High accuracy in quality control and documentation updates.
- Experience working with diverse teams, including international subcontractors and internal staff.
- Flexibility to travel for service and training activities both in the UK and occasionally internationally.
- Familiarity with parcel locker or similar systems, electromechanical devices, and organisational IT tools.
- Effective time management and responsibility with tools and components.
