Nuclear Safety Case Consultant
Salary: £45,000 to £67,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Bristol or Gloucester (other FNC offices considered)
Working pattern: Flexible hybrid – time split between office, client sites and working from home.

Frazer‑Nash delivers engineering solutions in the nuclear industry across the UK, supporting design, construction, operation, inspection, maintenance and decommissioning of nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to tackle nuclear safety challenges.
- Perform technical tasks such as HAZID, fault schedule development, design basis analysis, probabilistic analysis, safety functional requirements and HAZOP.
- Conduct periodic safety reviews of nuclear facilities.
- Qualification and substantiation of systems against safety requirements.
- Internal and external hazards assessments.
- Safety case development and support for nuclear and non‑nuclear plants.
- Author clear and accurate safety‑related technical documents tailored to audience; summarise information and assemble arguments to justify safety.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in civil or defence nuclear, including safety experience.
- A degree, Master’s or PhD in a relevant STEM subject.
- Good organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to learn new systems quickly and adapt across projects and client organisations.
- Appetite for continual learning, improvement and personal development.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in technical oversight, leadership or self‑directed review.
- Commercial or project‑management experience.
- Technical consultancy background.
- Chartered status (or working towards) with a professional institution.
