Family Worker – Early Intervention Youth and Community Team

Your role
As a Family Worker in the Locality Early Intervention Teams you will support families to achieve positive outcomes by conducting holistic family assessments, developing personalised plans, coordinating targeted support and facilitating regular Team around the Family meetings.
The work is whole family‑led; families drive decision making and outcomes. You will also have the opportunity to deliver evidence‑based parenting programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive family assessments and identify supporting strengths.
- Co‑create and review personalised family plans with families and partner agencies.
- Coordinate targeted services and interventions to meet agreed outcomes.
- Facilitate Team around the Family meetings and maintain accurate record keeping.
- Deliver evidence‑based parenting programmes where appropriate.
- Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet family needs.
About you
You have demonstrable experience supporting children, young people and families, and preferably have run evidence‑based parenting programmes.
You are creative, motivational, solution‑focused, resilient, and skilled in risk management, time management and prioritisation.
You are flexible with working hours to accommodate families, including evenings and weekends.
Eligibility and requirements
- Enhanced DBS disclosure.
- Ability to travel across Swindon Borough and access to a car.
- Fluency in English (required by Part 7 of the Immigration Act).
