Group Manager – Cumbria and Lancashire

Multiple permanent Group Manager positions across Cumbria and Lancashire:

  • 1 x North Cumbria – West Cumbria Group
  • 1 x Morecambe Bay – Kendal Group
  • 1 x South Lancashire – Preston Group

Please note that if appointed following interview but unsuccessful in being appointed to one of the above positions, we will hold your application and appoint you to a future post within 6 months should an additional group vacancy become available across Cumbria and Lancashire.

Responsibilities

The Group Manager will assume responsibility for local operational service delivery, acting on behalf of and deputising for the Sector Manager within their group of stations. They will manage resource planning (rostering of resources), fleet and estates management, and financial management within their group of stations.

The Group Manager will focus on staff welfare support and management, and implementation of health and wellbeing measures. They will manage and oversee absence management procedures, working with Senior Paramedics to ensure staff are escalated where appropriate, and will undertake investigations as necessary. They will ensure that staff working in their group of stations are appropriately trained, paid correctly, have access to kit, equipment and vehicles required for their jobs, and are supported to be at work. They will also maintain the health and wellbeing of the staff in the group they manage, implementing health and wellbeing initiatives driven by the sector/area/organisation. The Group Manager will support the clinical lead with duties of candour.

Guided by the Sector Manager, the Group Manager will work closely with the Sector Clinical Lead to support them in delivering against clinical performance within their group.
