Overview
We seek passionate Procurement Officers to work collaboratively with suppliers around the world, enabling MBDA to provide world leading defence capabilities for our home Nations and their Allies. We lead commercial relationships with UK and overseas companies, which are typically the design authority for the articles procured. Our supplier subcontracts cover the entire life cycle of missiles and missile systems under the responsibility of MBDA UK; this provides us varied opportunities and role progression, as well as the chance to travel internationally, depending on the project assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mature series production supplier subcontracts.
- Ensure supplier delivery in line with contract obligations for both domestic and export customers.
- Negotiate value for money future pricing arrangements.
- Bidding for new business and placing subsequent subcontracts.
- Manage supplier obsolescence issues and deploy mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in contract management and negotiation in a customer/supplier environment.
- Comfortable with day‑to‑day problem solving, asking and answering difficult questions, and challenging yourself and others to common goals.
- Strong communication skills, reporting and co‑operation with internal and external partners.
- Assertiveness and a continual drive to maximise opportunities.
- Qualified in a business subject area with procurement or supply chain accreditations, or equivalent experience.
- UK and European travel to suppliers required.
Employment Details
- Salary: Circa £36,000 depending on experience.
- Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2–3 days per week on‑site due to workload classification.
- Flexi‑working: dynamic leave (time in lieu) and optional paid overtime.
- Security clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship; all successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks.
- Travel: UK and European travel required.
