The Role

The National Farm Project Manager is responsible for planning, shaping and execution of key farming projects. The role focuses on collaborating with ABP farmers and project stakeholders to deliver farming sustainability schemes ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with ABP and the customer objectives.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm with some flexibility to meet the demands of the business.

Location

Shrewsbury with regular travel to supplying farms

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of farm projects, including farmer recruitment, data management and communications.
  • Oversee engagement and communication with all participating farmers, providing clear communication and support structure.
  • Arrange and deliver farmer meetings, workshops, and events
  • Ensure compliance with relevant agricultural standards, environmental regulations, and funder requirements.
  • Track actions, progress, and follow-ups across projects
  • Collect, analyse and report project information, farmer feedback, and outcomes
  • Share regular updates with colleagues and project partners
  • Line management of at least one field person

Knowledge & Experience

  • Practical experience working within the agricultural industry
  • Strong understanding of cattle production systems, animal health, welfare, and farm sustainability
  • Experience coordinating projects, programmes, or on-farm initiatives
  • Confidence communicating with farmers and building trusted working relationships
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to collect, manage, and report project and farm-level data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly to farms and rural locations
  • Knowledge of assurance schemes, environmental schemes, or sustainability programmes within the cattle sector
  • Experience working with supply chains, processors, or customer-led farming initiatives
  • Formal qualification or training in agriculture, land management, or project management
