Account Director – Havas Play

The Account Director (AD) role sits within the Client Services/Activation Team at Havas Play. The AD is an integrated role spanning creative, content‑led campaign planning and delivery, alongside management of partnerships and activations. Experience in managing cross‑functional teams is essential, along with the ability to lead on driving work through Strategy teams, Creative teams, and Studio/Production to delivery. The AD will work closely with an inter‑agency team (Creative, Media, Production) to manage large scale scopes of work and budgets, and identify and deliver growth opportunities for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management – Work across multiple clients and projects simultaneously, maintaining a high quality standard without projects falling behind.
  • Inter‑agency Coordination – Serve as the crucial link between Creative Agency (Havas London), Media Agency (Arena Media), and Production Agency (Prose on Pixels), ensuring best‑in‑class cross‑functional delivery and high standards.
  • Leadership & Management – Mobiles large cross‑functional teams, spin multiple plates at once, proactively drive projects forward, create project plans and timelines, manage capacity, and ensure appropriate resources are committed.
  • Strategic Thinking – Interrogate client briefs, interrogate insights, strategy and creative briefing, delegate to the team, draw on other business leads, and position ideas creatively to the client.
  • Campaign Planning & Execution – Oversee all campaign planning and activation delivery, including content creation, activation/live experience, influencer engagement, owned IPled projects and social media workstreams. Write scopes, negotiate with clients and ensure alignment on objectives.
  • Content Management – Lead the development of content and asset production from ideation to delivery, manage high volume assets, and drive the creative feedback process from client to internal teams.
  • Communication & Presentation – Strong creative and corporate writing skills for client proposals, reports, internal toolkits, and case studies. Adapt communications to client and team needs, maintain high quality written work, and present confidently to clients.
  • Proactive Management – Anticipate problems, think ahead, maintain accountability, empower team, and keep a positive, solutions‑driven attitude.
  • Relationship Building – Build trusting client relationships, challenge and advise with a solution‑based mindset, work fluidly with strategy, insights, and creative departments, and nurture industry contacts for growth opportunities.
  • People Management – Run day‑to‑day operations of the team, hold regular internal status meetings, assess team development, and distribute work effectively.
  • Process & Finance – Champion internal agency processes, use Monday.com for workflow, scope, and revenue tracking, manage finance processes, and negotiate fees while ensuring profitability.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience managing cross‑functional teams within an integrated agency environment.
  • Deep understanding of digital content and media landscape.
  • Strong strategic, creative, and commercial mindset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple large‑scale projects and budgets simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) and financial processes (POs, invoicing).
  • Experience with client relationship management and ability to act as a trusted advisor.
