Miyubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is looking for a Compliance Technology Analyst, Assistant Vice President level, to support its Financial Crime & Surveillance function in London.Responsibilities
Immerse yourself in the bank’s efforts to combat financial crime through advanced technological solutions.Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical strategies.Develop scripts for automation and integration tasks using Python, PowerShell, .NET and PowerBI.Analyse, design and implement enhancements for transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and market surveillance platforms.Perform hands‑on development, configuration and scripting to deliver scalable technical solutions tailored to business requirements.Translate intricate business needs into clear technical specifications while ensuring solutions are robust, compliant and future‑proof.Conduct thorough root‑cause analysis on system issues and proactively design preventative controls.Act as key technology contact during internal and external audits, providing evidence of controls, system documentation, data extracts, reconciliations and supporting remediation.Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Risk and other stakeholders to understand requirements and serve as a liaison between business users and technology teams.Provide subject‑matter expertise on financial crime systems architecture and data flows to ensure seamless integration across platforms.Analyse large datasets for anomalies or control gaps while maintaining data integrity across all surveillance and reporting systems.Support model validation, including tuning machine learning models where applicable to enhance detection capabilities.Participate actively in change management activities such as system upgrades, patching cycles (SIT/UAT), new implementations, documentation maintenance and version control.Qualifications
Significant experience supporting or enhancing financial crime prevention systems within highly regulated environments.Proven track record analysing complex systems within regulated banking environments, focused on financial crime prevention or surveillance technologies.Proficiency in Python and PowerShell; experience developing scripts in .NET and PowerBI for data processing or integration.Strong background in data engineering, hands‑on experience with Snowflake, advanced SQL and familiarity with MongoDB.Experience using SSIS for data transformation workflows.Practical knowledge of Apache Kafka for real‑time data streaming and exposure to containerisation/orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.Hands‑on use of GitHub (or similar) for version control, including branching strategies and release management best practices.Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks utilising JIRA/Confluence.Exposure to AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch and practical experience deploying models into production environments.Previous involvement with transaction monitoring systems (e.g., Actimize), sanction screening tools (e.g., Fircosoft), communication surveillance or market/trade surveillance platforms.Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences.Proactive approach and strong organisational skills to manage large workloads under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.Benefits
