Job Description:

The ability to travel in a timely manner between rural sites where there is limited or no public transport.

Main duties of the job

As a senior Health Care Support Worker you will be responsible for the delivery of high standard, cost effective nursing care, under the supervision of the Team Leader or delegated representative. You will ensure that patients receive safe, individualized and effective standards of care by following care plans and treatment interventions as directed by the Team Leader. Although you will act at all times as directed by the nurse in charge of the caseload, you should be competent to work without direct supervision, within a framework that has been agreed by the Team Leader. You will communicate effectively at all times and in conjunction with other team members. You will act as a role model for Student Nurses.

Our team is supported by the Health Board and offers training and support to continue professional development.

Job responsibilities

Deliver cost-effective nursing care and support patients under the supervision of qualified nurses.

Follow care plans and treatment interventions to ensure safe and individualized care.

Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary team members.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Level 3 qualification in a healthcare-related subject or equivalent experience. Work-based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role.
  • Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and the All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting, including safeguarding adults/children and confidentiality (GDPR).

Experience

  • Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
  • Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.

Language Skills

  • Welsh speaker (Level 1).

Salary

£26,813 to £27,890 a year per annum pro rata.
