Clinical Support Worker MPU
Band 3 – 37.5 Hours

We have taken an innovative approach to develop a New Post in the Medical Procedures Unit at CIC, which is part of the Community Collaborative. This dual role will involve both clinical and administrative duties.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the registered nursing team by providing fundamentals of care in a busy scheduled care setting. Responsibilities include welcoming patients, taking and recording physical observations, providing refreshments, and performing various clinical duties. The role also involves administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the unit.
To enhance knowledge and the care provided, the individual is expected to undertake the Care Certificate if not already completed. There may be opportunities to develop further clinical skills within the role.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent in a range of patient and clinical care duties; or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment.
- Numeracy and literacy level 2.
- Relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in health or social care.
- Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalating findings.
- Working knowledge of legislation underpinning care provision.
- Understanding of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation.
- Insight into behaviours and skills of a carer and the need for effective teamwork.
- Knowledge of safeguarding.
- Understanding of work‑related boundaries.
- Awareness of GDPR and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.
- Knowledge of NHS clinical policies and procedures.
- Understanding of Trust business and values.
- Previous experience working in the Trust (preferred).
