Behaviour Support Worker – Preston

About the role

Justteachers are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH school in the Preston area to cover on a long-term basis. The full-time post is due to start in September 2026, immediate start dates may also be available, with shortlisting currently taking place.

Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to implement behaviour support strategies
• Assisting in the development and delivery of individual support plans to improve engagement and progress
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in and out of the classroom

Pre-requisites

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
• Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Two education or school-based references
