Position
Senior Health Care Support Worker based at Biggart Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
34.02 hours per week. From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
What You Will Do
In your role as a health care assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide an excellent standard of care to our patients. You will work closely with colleagues to deliver patient‑centred focused care.
Qualifications
- Experience in a health care setting is essential.
- SVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care.
- Flexible approach to shift patterns, including night duty.
- Hours of duty will be 34.02 per week; equivalent to 0.95 WTE.

To work in the United Kingdom, an individual must demonstrate the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service. NHS Ayrshire & Arran may offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and meets other required criteria.
