Warwick HSSU – Sterile Services Unit (CV34 5PZ) – Permanent – Salary £25,038 per annum (37.5hrs/week). Unsocial hours with shift‑based work.

Job Summary

Join Nuffield Health’s largest sterile services unit to dismantle, prepare and sterilise reusable medical instruments for theatres. This role requires organisational skills and effective communication. Prior experience in a sterile services environment is welcomed but not essential; full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, prepare and sterilise medical instruments for theatre surgery.
• Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
• Check medical equipment regularly for damage and report any faults.
• Collaborate with a friendly, supportive team.
• Take training as required.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Resolve problems and escalated issues when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with policies and procedures.
• Handle manual tasks up to 13kg.
• Show strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality service.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience or training in sterile services preferred but not mandatory.
• Computer literacy.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Physically able to lift up to 13kg and perform manual handling duties.
• Detail oriented with a strong desire to deliver quality results.
