We are a leading heavy equipment maintenance and rebuild company specialising in the repair, overhaul and remanufacture of mining and earthmoving components. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Component Mechanic to join our team.

About the Role

Working within our component rebuild workshop, you will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, overhaul and testing of heavy mobile equipment components while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Strip, inspect and assess mechanical components.
  • Complete rebuilds of engines, transmissions, differentials, torque converters, final drives, wheel groups and hydraulic components.
  • Interpret technical manuals, specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Accurately complete inspection reports and service documentation.
  • Measure and assess component wear against OEM specifications.
  • Identify failure causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform testing and quality checks prior to component release.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and fellow tradespeople to meet production schedules.

About You

  • Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification.
  • Previous experience rebuilding heavy mobile equipment components.
  • Experience working on Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi or similar mining equipment (highly regarded).
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Forklift, Dogging or High Risk licences are advantageous but not essential.
