Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Fire and Security Technician role based in Belfast. The technician will install, commission, maintain, and repair fire detection systems, alarm systems, and security equipment at client sites. Day‑to‑day tasks include inspecting and testing systems, diagnosing faults, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves completing accurate service reports, liaising with clients to explain findings and recommendations, and working collaboratively with colleagues to support larger projects. The technician may also assist with periodic upgrades and system improvements to enhance safety and security for customers.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills for fire and security systems, including fault‑finding and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of alarm systems and related security equipment, including installation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of network security and cybersecurity principles relevant to connected fire and security systems.
  • Awareness of occupational health and safety practices, with a commitment to safe working on‑site.
  • Prior experience as a fire and security technician or similar field‑based technical role is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (e.g., SSAIB, BAFE, PSA) is an advantage.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, use electronic test equipment, and complete clear service documentation.
  • Good communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in electrical, electronic, or security systems is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites within Belfast and surrounding areas as required.
