The Role
We have some exciting new opportunities to join our Heavy Maintenance team within the Bristol depot to support upcoming projects. Work in this role will vary depending on available projects; general tasks include fitting floors, paneling, seating, tables, windows and doors within the interior of the rolling stock. Electrical tasks may involve the installation and replacement of traction and rolling‑stock components and carrying out modifications in accordance with specified procedures, including the installation and termination of vehicle control wiring harnesses.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to laid‑down standards and procedures
- Carry out work allocated by the Service Delivery Leader to recognised standards
- Operate rail vehicles, within depot operating limits, in accordance with relevant operating procedures
- Ensure that safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI and local work instructions
- Ensure worksheets are signed off on completion of work
- Use correct PPE with standards and local instructions

- Qualifications – minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Engineering
- Experience – previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail‑vehicle maintenance activities is desirable
- Knowledge – good understanding of depot operations with the ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Engineering – strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering
