General Summary
As a key team member, you will operate cylindrical grinders and a surface grinder to produce parts, perform self‑inspection and quality checks, and ensure health and safety standards are met.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate cylindrical grinders and a small surface grinder.
- Operate various manual machinery (drill, mill, broach, lathe, and others) as needed.
- Deburr and washout parts during production.
- Review and update setups, working methods, and SOPs.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections according to drawings and specifications.
- Maintain equipment efficiency records.
- Perform safety and housekeeping tasks.
- Set up machines and conduct preventive maintenance.
- Participate in EHS activities, including risk assessments.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide training to peers and apprentices.
- Implement and improve the company’s quality system.
- Work in other areas as required.
Education, Skills and Experience
- Qualified in material removal processes such as cylindrical grinding.
- Completion of an apprenticeship in manufacturing, NC/HMC level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of manufacturing drawings and processes.
- Strong numeracy and mathematical skills.
- Ability to operate manual machinery, including jib cranes.
