About the Role
We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Corby that is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the life of a pupil who requires additional support. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to provide tailored one-to-one support, helping a pupil access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil throughout the school day
- Supporting the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans
- Delivering targeted interventions and adapting learning activities where appropriate
- Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
- Assisting with classroom routines and learning resources
- Building positive relationships with the pupil, parents, and school staff
Who We’re Looking For
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
- Experience supporting children in a primary school setting
- Previous experience working on a one-to-one basis is desirable
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about supporting young learners
