What you’ll be doing
This is your opportunity to be enrolled on our industry‑leading apprenticeship development scheme, which will underpin a successful career. You’ll work while completing a bespoke 30‑month program that takes you through all areas of the branch and then into management development, giving you the skills to lead a team.
Training & Development
During the first year you’ll learn about our safety‑first approach, the industry, the market and our business strategy. You’ll also learn how to sell by providing great service and gain a deep understanding of our product base. In the second year you’ll learn about leadership styles and how to inspire a team. Your learning will be on‑the‑job, with time set aside each week for coursework, and you’ll receive 1:1 coaching, mentoring and technical and skills training. At the end of the training you’ll complete an endpoint assessment and, on successful completion, will achieve an L2 Apprenticeship in year 1 and an L3 Apprenticeship in year 2.

Experience in merchanting or any previous work is not required – we just need the right attitude to learn and genuine interest in developing a career. We look for the following qualities:

Requirements
- You are over 18 (due to some of the products we sell).
- You’re not currently in any form of education.
- You are eligible to work in the UK.
- You are brand new to this kind of role.
- You are able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
- During the programme you will travel to other branches within your local region; a full UK driving licence and vehicle access are therefore required.
