Job Title: Maintenance Joiner / Multi-Trader

Job Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Joiner / Multi-Trader to join our Empty Homes (Voids) Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works to empty council properties, ensuring homes are brought back to a high standard and are ready for new residents to move into as quickly as possible.

This is a hands‑on role requiring strong carpentry skills, alongside the ability to complete basic multi‑trade maintenance tasks including plumbing and wall tiling.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and refurbishment works within empty council properties (voids).
• Complete joinery tasks including:
  • Hanging and fitting doors
  • Repairing and replacing timber components
  • Installing and fitting kitchens
  • General carpentry and joinery repairs
• Carry out basic plumbing maintenance tasks.
• Complete wall tiling works in kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas where required.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within required timescales.
• Help return empty properties to a safe, clean, and suitable condition for new residents.
• Work independently while maintaining good standards of workmanship and customer service.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Joiner, Carpenter, or Multi‑Trader within a maintenance or refurbishment environment.
• Strong carpentry and joinery skills.
• Experience fitting doors and installing kitchens.
• Basic plumbing skills.
• Ability to carry out wall tiling.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to manage workload and complete jobs efficiently.
• Own hand tools required for the role.

Additional Information

• A work van will be provided for use during working hours.
• The role involves travelling between empty properties and carrying out a variety of maintenance tasks.
• Experience within social housing, voids, or property repairs would be advantageous.
