Specialty Coordinator

We are seeking a Band 4 Specialty Coordinator to provide and manage an efficient and effective full administrative service.
Responsibilities
- Co‑ordinate and be responsible for the provision of comprehensive secretarial and administrative services to the Consultants and the wider team.
- Day‑to‑day management of Consultant diaries, organising clinic commitments, arranging appointments and theatre lists, where appropriate.
- Arrange special investigations and follow‑up actions arising from clinic appointments, ensuring tasks are dealt with in order of urgency.
- Ensure patient referral letters, clinical reports, correspondence and investigation results are available for clinic preparation.
- Ensure National and Trust “Referral to Treatment” (RTT) timescales are adhered to.
- Monitor clinical bookings to ensure clinic times are fully utilized, keep patients informed of any changes, and re‑organise cancellations and delegate duties where appropriate.

Qualifications
- Good standard of general education, including English language, maths GCSE to grade C or above or equivalent.
Experience and Knowledge
- Experience working with IT systems (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Experience in an NHS environment or public sector.
Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner.
- Problem‑solving skills and use of own initiative to implement changes.
