Overview
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the Head of Maintenance in ensuring our school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, and well maintained. This hands‑on role requires flexibility, initiative and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of work across the estate. You will help ensure lessons and school activities run smoothly by keeping facilities in good repair and assisting with maintenance, repairs, and operational support as part of a supportive and friendly Estates team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planned and reactive maintenance across the school site.
- Support routine safety checks and compliance with Health & Safety standards.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, moving furniture and preparing rooms.
- Assist with deliveries, waste management and recycling operations.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly to minimise disruption.
- Support grounds maintenance and site safety during adverse weather (e.g., snow and ice clearance).
- Maintain equipment and storage areas in good order.
