The Orange Tree Day Nurseries are a family-owned group of six nurseries across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and Burton-on-Trent. We create warm, inspiring environments where children flourish, and we’re proud of the relationships we build with our children, families and local communities.

We’re looking for a creative, enthusiastic and organised Marketing & Content Assistant to join our growing team.

Working closely with our leadership team, you’ll help showcase everything that makes The Orange Tree special. From creating social media content and designing marketing materials to supporting events and recruitment campaigns, no two days will be the same.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their marketing career who is looking to gain hands‑on experience, build an impressive portfolio and make a genuine impact within a growing business.

The role is flexible, part-time (12–16 hours per week) and based at our Derby (Duffield Road) nursery, with occasional travel to our other nursery locations.

What you’ll be doing

• Design engaging marketing materials including flyers, posters, banners, brochures and advertisements using Canva.
• Ensure all marketing materials reflect The Orange Tree brand and values.
• Create, schedule and manage engaging content across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, maintaining the marketing and social content calendar.
• Visit our nurseries to capture photography and video content that brings everyday nursery life to life.
• Update and maintain website content, ensuring information is accurate, engaging and up to date.
• Support the promotion of nursery events, open days, recruitment campaigns and seasonal initiatives.
• Monitor social media engagement and support reporting on marketing activity.
• Assist with parent communications and wider promotional campaigns.
• Work closely with nursery teams to celebrate children’s learning and share inspiring stories with families.
• Support wider marketing and brand projects as The Orange Tree continues to grow.

Skills & Experience

We’re more interested in attitude, creativity and potential than ticking every box. Ideally, you’ll have:

• Some experience in marketing, communications, graphic design or a related subject (through work experience, university or previous employment).
• Experience using Canva to create marketing materials (Adobe Creative Suite experience would be an advantage but isn’t essential).
• Experience creating content for social media.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• A full UK driving licence.
